George Robinson Obituary
George Arthur Robinson, 81, of Bushkill, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025. The oldest son, he was born September 26, 1943, in Lee County, Georgia to Samuel and Lillie Robinson (Green) Robinson.
George was an avid hunter and fisherman with a passion for the outdoors and wildlife. His home reflected his love of hunting, displaying several trophy heads of deer, turkeys, and even a bear-skin rug. With his dogs, Ida & Russ they would spend time doing what he loved back home. He took many fishing trips to places such as Montauk, Key West and Cape Cod, to name a few.
His love of the outdoors began when he was a young boy in Lee County, Georgia under the guidance of his father. In his later years, he found pleasure in maintaining his lawn and exercising at the gym several days a week.
He attended Waters Crossing School and later Lee County Training School in Leesburg, Georgia. George moved to New York City at age seventeen and began his journey into adulthood. He was "Big Brother" to his siblings and will be remembered for his special attention to how he dressed and his grooming. As a young man, he was meticulous and stylish. This level of pride carried over in many aspects of his life, including meticulous attention to the upkeep of his home and outdoor space.
After retiring he kept abreast of what was down south by receiving copies of their local newspaper. George worked in the trucking industry for many years and in 1973 began working as a NYC Sanitation Worker where he retired in 1996.
George is survived by his wife, Betty Anne of 61 years, daughters: Crystal (George) Gleich of Cambria Heights, NY, Cynthia Robinson of New York, NY, sons: Gregory Wilson (Trina), of Charlotte, NC and Jabbar Robinson of New York, NY, grandchildren: Brittney Wilson, Gavin Otto Gleich, Ashleigh Wilson, Gregory Wilson, Maliek Wilson, Elias Cruz; great grandchild, sisters: Thelma Cesar of Stone Mountain, GA; Polly Jordan of Jacksonville, FL; Elmira (Kenny) Simon of Lawrenceville, GA, Pearlie (William) Bowser of Leesburg, GA; Frances Robinson of Fayetteville, GA; Annie (Hosea) Mathis of Carrollton, GA; brothers: Samuel (Elizabeth) Robinson, of Ellenwood, GA; Willie Edward Walker of Leslie, GA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
