Joseph Giagni Obituary

Giagni, Joseph Nunzio
EAST GREENBUSH - Joseph Nunzio Giagni, age 83, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on January 30, 2024. He was born in Albany, to the late Benjamin and Marion (Winne) Giagni.
Joe was the proud owner of Peanut Land Express at the Empire State Plaza, in Albany, for 38 years, which was a special spot to enjoy a sweet treat. Upon retirement, Joseph found a new purpose and joined the Rensselaer City School District as a school bus driver for the next seven years, where he forged many lasting friendships.
In 1958, Joe married the love of his life, Isabelle N. (Fiacco) Giagni, and they were blessed to celebrate 65 years of marriage together. Their union was a testimony to love, commitment, and unwavering support. They were introduced to each other by Isabelle's cousin, Victor Cipollari, who became Joe's best man at their wedding.
In addition to his loving wife, Isabelle, Joe is survived by his two daughters, Jacqueline (Vincent) Lomonoco and Debra Giagni. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Gail; and nephews, Dean and Todd Giagni; his cousins, Joe, Marge, and dearest Patty, whom will forever hold fond memories of their time together; as well as his close friends, Judy, Armand, Juju, Betty, and Dennis.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call to the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, in Rensselaer, on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. Following the service, Joseph will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Donations in Joseph's memory can be made to Noah's Kingdom Humane Society, P.O. Box 14232, Albany, N.Y. 12212, or Peppertree Rescue, P.O. Box 2396, Albany, N.Y. 12220. Condolence page at www.wjlyonsfuneralhome.com
