Born on April 12, 1977, in San Jose, California, Alan was the beloved son of Francis and Kathleen Karmendy, who survive him. Alan grew up in Hollister, where he developed a strong work ethic that carried into his lifelong career in construction. His hands could build just about anything, and his creativity showed in every project he took on. He spent time living in Oxnard before settling in Manteca to be closer to his sister Jeanine, her husband, and their two children, whom he loved dearly. Alan especially cherished time spent outdoors, fishing, camping, and boating brought him the most peace. Being near water was where he felt most at home. Alan was known for his great sense of humor and constant joking. He had a lighthearted spirit and brought joy to those around him. Above all, he was a devoted father. His daughter Kirsten was his whole world, and he adored her beyond measure. Alan will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his love, laughter, and craftsmanship live on in their hearts
