NANCY SCHAEFER Obituary

NANCY M. SCHAEFER (nee Chuha) age 88, beloved wife for 46 years of the late William H.; loving mother of William E. (wife Pam), Suzanne Reichert, and Pamela Quandt (husband Larry); devoted grandmother of Holly Roby (husband Jason), Erin (Mason Yeater) Quandt, Ian Reichert, Emily Zocchi (husband Mat), and Matthew Reichert; cherished daughter of the late John and Mary (nee Hudak) Chuha; dearest sister of the late John Chuha; dear aunt and great-aunt of many. Nancy was born on August 28, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio. Although she grew up in Euclid, she called Wickliffe home for the last 50 years. Over the years, three things have had a major impact on her life. Faith, family, and travel. Nancy was a longtime parishioner of Ss. Robert and William Catholic Church and was very active in the parish. She enjoyed running the Baby Corner, working as a funeral greeter, assisting with the Sunday offerings, amongst many other things. Nancy was supportive of her children as they were growing up and was active in their Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts groups. With a love for travel, she often took the family on road trips throughout the United States. She traveled to various countries with her husband and took several bus trips with the Senior Centers. Nancy was active in many ways, whether she was biking or cross-country skiing, spending time with her friends at the senior centers, traveling, attending a show at Playhouse Square, or simply caring for others. Her love for others was truly evident through her willingness to help others without anything in return. On January 24, 2024, Nancy passed away. Though she will be missed, her family and friends will find comfort in the memories made with the most selfless woman they had the privilege of calling mom, grandma, and friend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Nancy to either Ss. Robert and William Catholic Church or Miracle City Hospice. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Nancy at Ss. Robert and William Catholic Church, 367 E 260th St, Euclid, OH 44132, on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 10-11 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11 AM. Burial at All Souls Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS. Online obituary and guestbook at www.DeJohnCares.com
