Charley “PapaJack” Pate, Jr. of Wylie, TX was welcomed to his heavenly home on August 7, 2024. He was born on October 8, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Charley Jack Pate Sr. and Dorothy Jean Pate.
Jack attended South Garland High School and graduated in 1968. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He courageously served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. After his service in the Navy, Jack married the love of his life Beverly Kay Pate, a marriage of 51 years. In 2007, he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis enabling him to retire from Raytheon after 40 years. He did not allow this incurable disease to stop him from living the life he always wanted to live. Although he faced challenges with his disease, Jack never lost touch with his silly sense of humor. In addition to enjoying time with his family, he was a true animal lover who cherished caring for his many dogs. “PapaJack” was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
Jack was a devout Christian that accepted Christ as his savior 27 years ago, and a member of the Lavon Drive Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley Jack Pate Sr. and Dorothy Jean Pate; his sister and brother-in-law, Charlene Loving and Bobby Loving.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Pate of Wylie, TX; his children, Amy Kirkpatrick of Wylie, TX and Todd Pate of Granbury, TX; his grandchildren, Amber Kirkpatrick of Lake Dallas, TX and Madison Maxcy of Wylie, TX; his niece, Kay Kay and her husband, Togo Henry of Morrilton, AR.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM, Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
