VANDALIA - Steven C. Finfrock, 75, died Wednesday 22, 2023 at Grandview Hospital Dayton.
He was born June 22, 1948, in Piqua to the late James C. and Velma E. (Rich) Finfrock.
He married Kathy S. Phipps September 3rd, 1972, until 1986 in Lockington.
Other survivors include three children, Kateena (Derek) Vandervort of Vandalia, Brad Finfrock of Covington, Lance Finfrock (Rachel Finn) of Washington; seven Vandervort grandchildren Darien, Dawson, Konner, Tristen, Kellen, Karenza, Kareena; one sister, Sharon Kindell of Piqua; one brother, Richard Finfrock of Piqua; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Finfrock of Piqua; many nieces and nephews; and his dog Reesie.
He was preceded in death by two sisters Carole Barhorst and Jean Bryant; one brother, James L. Finfrock; one sister-in-law, Kay Finfrock; and two brother-in-laws, Paul Blanton and Bob Barhorst.
Mr. Finfrock, a proud alumnus of Piqua Central High School, graduated in 1966. He went on to have a fulfilling career, retiring as a master machinist from Perfecto Industries of Piqua after four decades of dedication. An avid sports enthusiast, he found joy in cheering for teams like the Cleveland Browns, the Cincinnati Reds, and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Beyond his passion for sports, he had a love for fishing and cherished the companionship of numerous dogs throughout his life.
In more recent years, Mr. Finfrock delighted in attending and supporting his grandchildren's sports activities, finding immense pride and joy in their achievements. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends.
A gathering of family and friends to honor his life will be at his home from 5-7 p.m. Thursday November 30th.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cleveland Browns Foundation, Miami County Animal Shelter, or by buying Ohio Lottery tickets.
