Although I never had the opportunity to take his class at GHS l remember his faculty guidance for a homecoming float featuring The Wizard of Id. His artistic perspective guided the students to make flat characters. He said cartoons are 2 dimensional and should be portrayed that way. I appreciated his explanation. Besides, he was the "coolest" teacher on faculty it GHS and drove that cool blue Gremlin!
My sincerest condolences to his family.

George was an amazing man. It didn't matter I never had him as a teacher in a classroom, he taught all with his kindness and passion. The first time I met him was when he helped my family move into our Grandview home in 1970. I knew then he was a special person. Condolences to all his family. May your memories help you heal and be shared through the generations

I was so sorry to hear of George's passing. I met him one year long ago at Ward Parkway's art show and fell in love with his pottery and a friendship was born. I made a point to go to the holiday pottery walks through the years and am the proud owner of many of George's beautiful pieces. I even have a beautiful bird bath that he sold me one year. He was a very special person, as teachers and artists tend to be. I discovered he taught my nieces at Grandview HS, as well as some of my friends. The world was a better place because of George and I will miss him, as will many others. My thoughts and sympathy are with his family. May all of your wonderful memories and love sustain you through this sad time.

Memories of "Dad" Chrisman are many and pleasant. He poured his heart and talents into all the students that walked through his classroom doors. You taught us so much more than brush strokes. You will be fondly remembered.
