Carl Maples Obituary

Carl was the first born son of Annie Lee Turner Maples and Carl Thomas Maples.
He was born in Huntsville, Texas, and graduated high school from Smiley High in Houston, Texas and received a bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
He ran a successful and respected commercial photography business for 32 years.
Carl was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Thomas; his mother, Annie Lee; his father, Carl Thomas; and his grandmother, Mary Lee Turner. He is survived by Beth Barry (wife) and his children: Debra Hirst (Barry), Kevin Kendrick (Robbin), Kara Valor (Tino), Brent Maples (Gina), Amy Conrad (Rob) and Hank Clawson; his grandchildren: Keith Valor, Jessica Valor, Jared Valor, Rebekah Valor, Olivia Hirst, Chase Maples, Austin Conrad, Cole Conrad, Conner Clawson and Taylor Clawson. The celebration of Carl's life will be announced at a later date.

Carl was a great guy. We played tennis together for about 5 years in the 70s. We had great times playing at the Humble High School tennis courts. I really enjoyed knowing him. Rest in peace, Carl.

I knew Carl through my late father, Carl Jobe and the Color Place photo lab. Thanks to those two Carl's I learned a great deal about customer service. Where and when is his Celebration? Will it be in Houston, hopefully?

I met Carl through my friend Galen Scott. He was a true expert craftsman in his practice and a great soul as well. Blessed to have know him in life, and as well in our profession.
