I was so sorry to hear of Stewart's passing. He was a true gentleman, who was so proud of his family, and was always happy to speak of them and their achievements. I always enjoyed our talks as we worked on various projects over the years, and those talks always seemed to get back to family. My deepest sympathy to you Maria and family, regards David Rae, Sunshine Coast, Australia

Dear Maria, Stew was with us in the Opus office in Greymouth for a relatively short time but his contribution in the office was enormous. Together with you the Evans team also became a valuable addition to the office social life. Stew was truly one of the good guys.
On the work front, his technical knowledge coupled with wisdom gained from his experience made him very effective and highly respected in his work. He always had time to help others and mentor his colleagues (young and old!) and always had a smile and great sense of humour.
Stew will be missed by all who knew him and our thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time.
From those who worked with Stew on the roads on the West Coast.

My lovely brother in law Stewart was like the brother to me I never had. Will miss all those fun times we had at our Christmas get togethers, many a wine was drunk over the years.
Was a very special moment when you shook Brent's hand at the hospital, I only wish you had more time to meet him, but I'm sure you knew how happy I was now.
We had planned to come down and watch Canterbury in the rugby final with you but never mind we did share lots of great rugby games together.
Will miss you heaps, you will always have a special place in my heart.
All my love
Judith & Brent
