Sending our condolences to you all on Alan's passing. He was a great neighbour to my parents across the road. When we buy strawberries over here, they are always compared to the lovely strawberries that you grew and the ones here just seem to be missing Alan's touch.

My condolences to Alan's family. As farmers my father and I found Alan always a pleasure to work with. His cheerful and conversational disposition was something to look forward to. I still reflect on one in particular remark he made in observation about a particular idiosyncrasy, fifty years later! My life was more interesting because of knowing Alan.
