I was very lucky to be taught by Mr Brownie at Waihi school and was deeply saddened by his passing. He was always incredibly encouraging, and guided me through my early years of music and performance. His never ending confidence in my abilities helped me into my current profession.
He was a great teacher, and a lovely man with a fantastically dry wit.
Love to his family,

Geoff was a wonderful human being. We were 02ers together in Hong Kong. I loved his acerbic wit and sense of justice. He clearly adored his family. So glad I caught up with him a and have the memory of him in his lovely retirement home and stunning garden in 2017. He will be greatly missed. Condolences to his family

I also met Geoff at the Net Induction in 2002. We were all new to Hong Kong so it was a great to have Geoff as a great friend. Geoff was just so nice to talk to. Always willing to help!!! A huge lost....may Geoff rest in peace.

Remember meeting Brownie at the induction session in 2002 and how he helped set up the original Pnets website after the British Council Pnets version wasn't extended. He always spoke highly of his children and was very enthusiastic and entertaining to speak with about education and life in Hong Kong.
Sad to hear of his passing.
RIP. Brownie

Farewell Geoff! Picking you up at the airport when you first arrived HK seems like a very recent event. It was a privilege to teach and work closely with you. You were not only a colleague, but a very dear friend. Thank you for having shared my happiness and helping me in difficult times. When you visited HK in June, I never thought that it would be the last time I saw you. You will always be remembered. Rest in Peace!
Much love,
Sikkie

Geoff - we will miss you dearly. I was stunned when Bernie told me of your passing. I submit my sincere condolences to your brothers and sister and all the extended family. You were a wonderful friend to so many people and I am sure an inspiration to your students both here in NZ and in HK. May you be at peace.
