Wayne PURU Obituary

At home with his devoted family, Wayne passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in the loving arms of Diana while surrounded by family. Much loved father of Gloria and Jeremy Phillipson (Gore), Mike and Anton (Auckland), Kelli and Corey Richardson (Alexandra). Much loved and devoted Koro of Dylan, Klea, Eryn, Nate, and Kera, and Great-Koro of Lilly. Loved son of Shirley and the late Rua Puru. Loved brother of Moana, Tony, and the late Dale. Loved brother-in-law of David and Pam McDougall, Wendy, and the late Captain Alex McDougall. A private cremation has been held. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 2 at the West End Hall, 35A Maltby Avenue, Timaru, at 2.30pm.

I am so sorry to hear of the death of Wayne. Went to Waimumu in February and always think of you guys going past the house at Pukerau. That was such a long time ago! Sending you love and hugs.
