I'm so sorry for the loss of Terry, he was definitely a favourite teacher and I have fond Pareora memories from childhood of his great teaching. I know he was an important person in many people's lives over his lifetime, taken too soon. Been thinking of you all.
With love and best wishes

Terry Whyte was an amazing man. He was the best teacher I ever had and I still remember fondly the way he taught us. Terry and Jane were family friends and Jane spoke beautifully at my mother's funeral. I knew Terry had been unwell, but did not realise how unwell till a couple of weeks ago. My thoughts go out to Jane and the girls. Terry you be missed by many in the teaching profession and in the community at large. Terry is a big loss.
