In the year 1993-94 Steve and I served together in Cambodia under the auspices of Southeast Asian Outreach. As Steve's director, I found in him a future leader of much worth, as well as a convinced Christian. Rev. Dr. James Verner

Every sunrise and every sunset I remember Steve, longing to hear his laughter.

Dear Sovann, Sopal, Heidi, Daniela, Alf, Anne, Ali, Lis and families, my sympathy is with you as I share your loss.
Steve always found good in all people and looked for positive learning in every challenge. He inspired everyone who had the privilege to work with him, and he appreciated our efforts. His legacy will live on in Myanmar and in our hearts as we work to realise his vision to release people from hunger and poverty.
Steve is a treasure we miss deeply and remember as the quintessential 'Good Man'. May he rest in peace.
With my love and sympathy to all,

Alf & Anne, Sovann, Sophal, Heidi, Daniela and all your family. You have all lost such a special, caring, loved and loving person. A piece of each of your hearts must be missing. I am not sure I can walk in your shoes to understand just how hard and difficult that must be for all of you, but my love and thoughts are with you.

It is not often in life that you come across a person who not only becomes a great mate, but also one you can trust and reply on 100% (including being tied into the other end of the same rope high in the mountains) - in Steve I had that mate and always will, and will always remember him and miss him.

Sad, sad news. Steve was a great friend during my years in New Zealand. We climbed together and we had work connections. Steve was always such a steady and cheerful guy. Thoughtful and compassionate too. He cared about people and he cared about his environment. I liked him very, very much and he's a great loss to all who knew him.

Dear Steve, you were a great boss I have ever had and it was a big loss not only for me but also for LIFT and Myanmar to lose you. You will always be in my memories and heart. The biggest thing that saddens me and Sun Light is that getting prepared for your visit to my new garden in January, 2016 which could not happen anymore. I believe that you are now in peace in Heaven.
