SHAW, Ethel 'Ruth'
(nee Payne):
Passed away peacefully surrounded with love, at Clare House, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, aged 83 years. Loved daughter of the late Lil and Ted Payne (Pahia). Treasured and most loved mother of Nerolie McMillan and Bob Lawrence (Northland); David and Chris Shaw (Melbourne); Alister and Wendy Shaw (Victoria); Ian (dec) Shaw; and Tracey and Murray Patterson (Invercargill). Loved Grandmother of Haidee; Leanna, Mathew, Ryan; and Crystal, and Great-Grandmother of her nine great-grandchildren. Cherished sister and sister-in-law of Carl (dec), Marion Calvert and Graham (dec) Watkinson, Norman (dec) and Lesley Payne, and Nalda and Norman Arthur. Loved Aunty of all her nieces and nephews, and a loved cousin. Loved daughter-in-law of the late Madge and Arnold Shaw, and loved sister-in-law of the wider Shaw family. Loved friend and companion of the late Nigel Saunders (Winton). Family would like to sincerely thank the past and present staff of Clare House for their love and care of Ruth. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Southland would be greatly appreciated and can be left at the service. A service for Ruth will be held on Monday, October 3, 1.30pm, at All Saints Anglican Church, Corner Dee Street and Holywood Terrace, Invercargill. A private cremation will follow.
