I remember Ron as a Boys Brigade Leader when he encouraged we boys with the brigade's programme. I recall he took us each other week to Ocean View. I remember a couple of camps on the Taieri that were great fun. He was a nurseryman for Christies at the time. I later stayed with his sisters (Dorothy and Kathleen) on occasions and worked with Allan.
A thoroughly capable chap who to some extent shaped our lives.
