Sam Inder - Rocklands Pukerangi & Patearoa Water Schemes.

Great memories of working with Roger on the Rocklands - Pukerangi Water Scheme, providing household and stock water to 20 Farms in dry challenging country. That scheme now 45 years on, and the Patearoa Scheme now 50 years on, both still operating well. His ability to cut through 'Red Tape' was instrumental to the successful completion of these schemes in Central Otago.

Members and officers of the New Zealand vintage machinery club, Keating park, Christchurch, offer our condolences to the Mahon family.
Roger was a enthusiastic member and generously supported or club.
He was not only a dedicated and enthusiastic preserver of vintage machinery. But actually created many novel and unique , kiwi machines. That in turn , will be cherised in times to come.
His practicle energy and business brain has lead to a fabulous collection of machinery that will be safe for generations in the future.
Our club has recently enjoyed reading about his contracting life when he was generous enough to allow our magazine to share. it.
Rogers" real life" outlook, and "tell it like it is " style was typical of contractors of his generation.
His presence will be missed by many in the wider vintage machinery and other organisations .
Wayne Dyer. President. NZ vintage machinery club,

Condolences to your family Roger.... You hold a special place in our family history.
From buying & selling various dozers to my grandfather... To being a great friend to my late father Wally.... To being my first job as a teenager. Knowing you & working for you has been nothing short of inspirational. My father forever looked on, from the various contracts & jobs he had with you. Thank you for those opportunities. Like an old Totara tree, you are now also one of the legends forever embedded in history that we will continue to talk about. Rest easy Roger & enjoy your catch up with dad.
