Robin SHEPHERD Obituary
Born December 11, 1936, at Gore, late of Waipopo Reserve (Seadown), passed away at Riverleigh Residential Care in Lower Hutt, on Sunday, November 28, 2021, with family at his side and in the comfort of knowing how much he was loved by family and friends separated by distance in the last months of his life. Robin fought his cancer with a fierce determination that only he could. Robin is survived by his three children Cynthia, Vicki and Darryn, and their families. Thank you to the staff at Te Omanga Hospice and Riverleigh Residential Care for the wonderful care given to Robin. To the staff at the Cancer Society in Timaru and in Christchurch, thank you for all your help navigating Dad's cancer treatment, and for friends and colleagues at the Cancer Society, Wellington Branch, your support has been awesome. A celebration of Robin's life will be held at the Salisbury Park Crematorium (Timaru), at 10.00am, on December 11, 2021, Robin's 85th birthday. Garden flowers only please. Meeting Robin not so long ago, for the first time I could see in him a love of his life lived and his deep sense of humor. A very astute mind and not unwilling to share his thoughts and opinions. It made for a very interesting conversation. Deepest sympathy to Vicki and family.

Cynthia, Vicki, Darryn and families My sincere condolences to you all in the loss of yr Dad and Grandad. I remember the good old days at the red brick house on the corner of RP Drive and Hayhurst St with the swimming pool for great entertainment. Yr Dad was was always such a quiet gentle soul. Treasure yr memories.

Robin had a full and interesting life which he celebrated with humour and stoicism. I so enjoyed every moment I spent with him and though it is always hard for family and friends, I'm pleased the struggle is over and he can be at peace.
