Raymond Frank "Mintie" BLACK

Raymond BLACK Obituary

On September 16, 2025, in his 97th year. Loved husband of the late Careen Julia (nee Valentine). Devoted father and father-in-law to Raewyn and Duncan Mill. Cherished Pop to Michele and Ross (deceased), Rachel and Matt, and Great-Pop to Josh and Tom. Mintie, you were always one for a good yarn. We will all miss your generous spirit, your kindness and willingness to help others, your love of lotto and a scratchie!

"You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts."

To the amazing staff at Summerset Avonhead, thank you for such wonderful care of Mintie. At Mintie's request, a private cremation has been held. All communications to: c/- Black Family, PO Box 11-101, Sockburn, Christchurch 8443.

My condolences to the Black Family on the recent passing of Mintie.Always kept an eye out for him doing his walks and chatted when i could. Great times and laughs over the Twizel days and just catching up.RIP

Sorry to hear of Mintie passing. Great supervisor NZED 1980 - 85 always keen for a chat. Always had a good veg & flower garden. Visited Mintie yearly in Temuka about 1995 onwards. Liked his cars & property everything very tidy. RIP Mintie.

Sad to hear of Minties passing. Pat always spoke highly of him when he was his boss at NZED in Twizel. Always a gentleman. Heartfelt sympathy to the family. Grief can be so hard but memories help us cope
