What a very sad day for all, losing natures gentleman Peter. He was a character in many ways, especially when it came to salmon fishing yarns. It has been a privilege having Pete and Doreen as close friends for over 44 years. Our hearts go out to all the Tutty family in this hour of sadness.

I was gutted to hear of Peter's passing. It was my privilege to work with Peter for more than 20 years at the Timaru Herald. A better man would be hard, if not impossible, to find. A true blue Kiwi gentleman.

What a privilege it was for us both to have worked with Peter at The Timaru Herald over many years. As a man he always stood head and shoulders above the rest and will be remembered with fondness and respect.
