Peter TAIAROA Obituary

To Denise and whanau. So very sorry to hear of the passing of Pete. He was such a lovely man and was so supportive of our boys on the golf course. Sincere condolences.

Sorry I am late with my message as I only found out Pete had passed away today.
Pete was a really good man who was never short of an opinion on any subject, we had many a discussion at golf.
A talented sportsman across many different sports, a true Zinger.
My sincere condolences to all the family from as Pete called me " A one eyed Jersey Puller"

I was always staying at Canada St with Peter and Michael. Every time Denise bought something for the boys ,i was always included. We were like three brothers. He will be Sadley missed. Dear Denise and family, sending deepest sympathy and love to you all on your sad loss of Pete. Our childhood was linked through our families, our grandparents Nellie and Tom Taiaroa and Linda and Tom Robson and their children were all great friends and neighbours in Wai-iti Road, our parents Gordon Taiaroa and Roy and Greta Clarke were friends as our Dad´s both worked on the wharf together. As children we had fun times at the annual wharfies picnics at the Temuka Domain, gatherings in Canada Street and Century Pool. Happy memories to treasure. Lyndsay Clarke

I was fortunate to have known "Taiza" over 5 decades of our lives and share many laughs and wonderful times over all those years. Pete was a gifted sports person. Playing Rugby and cricket in his younger years. Later in life playing and excelling at Squash and Golf. As a devoted member of the Pleasant Point Golf Club, we spent many times playing together and the odd beverage was consumed along with accounts of a host of stories. His workmanship was second to none. Rest easy my friend. You were a great friend to us all and will be sadly missed.
