Peter JOHNSTON Obituary

Unexpectedly passed at home in Timaru, on Sunday, May 11, 2025, aged 71 years. Loved husband of the late Elizabeth (nee Scott). Much loved father and father-in-law of Scott and Jo, Chris and Nas, and cherished Poppa to Liam, and Dylan. Messages to: The Johnston Family, c/- PO Box 6035, Ashburton 7742. A service to celebrate Peter's life will be held at Sopheze On The Bay, Virtue Avenue, Maori Hill, Timaru, on Thursday, May 15, 2025 commencing at 1.30pm, followed by interment at the Timaru Cemetery.

Peter was in the rescue squad when I joined in the early 90s. Pareora won several competitions with Peter in the team he became team leader after a while and also won the team leader award several times great bloke liked working with him

To Scott, Chris and extended families, my sincere condolences to you all with Pete's unexpected passing. I worked with Pete (LH) at Pareora, we had a great bunch of guys there, probably the best working years of my life, playing cards and sports trivia!
