To Vickie, Deborah & families,
Although I was saddened to hear of Noel's passing at least now he is at peace.
My girls and I have fond memories of times we spent together with your family and the Dorgans (especially many Christmas Eves
) when you were young.
Noel will now be able to have a beer with Rod and Paul in Heaven's bar.
May the memories of the many good times you shared with your Dad, father-in-law and Grandad help you through these difficult times.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy.

In 1967 Noel, Jenny, Gaye and I left Timaru to commence teacher training in Dunedin.I liked Noel's positivism and humour and we mixed at College, rugby and in general socialising. After graduation he headed north and I stayed in Dunedin.
Over the years we had minimal contact but I heard( No surprise) about his success as a teacher.
He was fun , well liked by pupils, celebrated their success and assisted each of them when necessary. He was enthusiastic about his teaching and had a regular dose of P/E or sport in his daily programme.
Noel was one of your original "good guys"and contributed so much.
He will be missed by many.

Mr Veitch was my teacher at Main School I was in Standard 2 or 3. He was funny and kind. I remember we would always want to clean his shoes when he read us stories. Rest easy Mr Veitch. I’m nearly 60. I remember him like it was yesterday

So sad Vicky,Todd,Deborah,Willie and all the family to hear of Noel's passing. Please accept our sincerest sympathy.Memories come flooding back of those great Veitch family gatherings when we were young cousins together. The times in the 1950 - 1960's when we met at Grandma Veitch's home in Studholme Street for Christmas and to celebrate one of Grandma's birthday milestones. Latterly our Christmas together were held at the Veitch home in Hodges road in Waimate. On more recent occasions when visiting Noel at his home in Ashbury Avenue sharing many of the lighter side of growing up as cousins in the wider Veitch family - special times together. As a cousin I always admired Noel's sincere fair mindedness he naturally extended to those that had the privilege of knowing him within our family and those who had contact in his professional career. Both Geoff and I extend to you all, our sympathy and best wishes as yo reflect on the life of a caring family man, and for me in particular, a truly likeable cousin I could not have wishesd for more.

Noel was easily one of the best primary school teachers for a young lad. Always keen for a game of rounders in Standard 3. When I turned 17 I was playing Senior cricket with "Mr Veitch" and he became a good team mate. Pleased he saw NZ Cricket on top of the world.
