Neville TAYLOR Obituary

6.12.32 – 20.12.24
Passed peacefully at Wellington Hospital, aged 92. Beloved friend and husband of Betty for 66 years, loved father and father-in-law of Susan and Peter and Robert and Pauline, devoted grandfather of Rory and Harry and treasured great-grandfather of Phoenix. Much loved little brother of Joan (dec) and half-brother of Cora (dec) and George (dec). Neville (NT or Doc) was born in Temuka and arrived in Wellington at the age of 18, where he met Betty at work (Post Office Savings Bank). His 39-year career at POSB included telegraph delivery boy, accountant at Manners Street branch, team member on computerising the bank branch, and senior supervisor. After retirement Dad was the primary carer for Betty's aged parents, babysat his young grandson Rory and started his second career as a bowler at the Wilton Bowling Club. Always an avid gardener, Neville's glasshouse tomatoes were always a hit, and the front flower garden in Wainuiomata was the best on the street. As per Neville's wishes, a private family celebration of Neville's life will be held at a later date. Messages for the family can be sent c/- Lychgate Funerals, 306 Willis Street, Wellington 6011.
