Neville BAIRD Obituary

LRSM LRAM. On October 26, 2023, at Burwood Hospital, Christchurch; aged 80 years. Dearly loved only son of the late Mona Grant, and a cherished grandson of the late Alfred and Annie Mitchell. Loved brother of Margaret Wright (Christchurch) and Lynsey Baird (Timaru), and a loved uncle, great-uncle and cousin. Respected and loved by his many pupils in London, Cairo, and Christchurch over his 48 years of piano teaching. The family thank Access for their help over the last 2 years and thank the outstanding staff of Ward BG Burwood Hospital. Messages to the Baird family, c/- PO Box 111-01, Christchurch 8443. A Funeral to celebrate Neville's wonderful life will be held in St Peter's Anglican Church, Church Corner, Upper Riccarton, Christchurch, on Tuesday, October 31, at 1.00pm.

I had the utmost privilege to learn from Mr. Baird during my high school years. Mr. Baird was the kindest and most passionate of all piano teachers. He taught me essential skills that helped open up new paths. Every moment with him was truly life changing. I am certain that Mr. Baird will be remembered for many generations.
