Mike fought a hard but very optimistic battle during his last five year journey but sadly passed away at Middlemore Hospital on March 6, 2023. Dearly loved and treasured husband and companion of Shona, dearly loved father of Luke (deceased) and Max. Dearly loved only son of the late Marie and Des Hurley. Loved brother and brother-
in-law of Helene (deceased) and Gary Stocker (Timaru), Angela and Garth Campbell (Dunedin), Clare and Anthony Gibson (Lincoln), and Kate and Wayne Tibbitts (Wellington). Loved son-in-law of Jim (deceased) and Fay Chisholm (Timaru), and loved brother-in-law of Lois Dungey (Te Anau), Ruth and Rodger Shannon (Pleasant Point), Lynne and Michael Porter (Timaru) and Alison Chisholm (Timaru). Cherished and respected Uncle of all this nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Mike was a great mate, friend and mentor to many. A celebration of Mike's life will be held at Fountains Memorial Chapel, 35 Wood Street, Papakura, Auckland, at 1.00pm, on Monday, March 13, 2023, followed by a burial at Gatland Road, Cemetery.
Mike, you will be sorely missed. R.I.P.
