Maurice SAMMONS Obituary

So sorry to hear of the passing of Maurice. Fond memories of when we were young. He will be with his Mum and Colin now.

i remember the first time we met. At the Redbank Plains Tavern in QLD ( our local ) with Shoobeedoo. After a great show you came and sat with us. You must have been nervous reconnecting with your daughters that night but you struck me as a straight up kind of guy. And we were excited to meet you. In the years to come I came to know you as a great guy.. funny and talented as hell. Connected again a few times back here in NZ, you even took the time to come and see us here in our little town of Waiau. I was saddened to hear of your illness and that it took you so quickly but I know you lived a full life. The next Jack I have will be for you while listening to your music. It was an honor to have known you Moz. Proud you were my daughters Grandad. Go well my friend.

To Christine, and the Sammons family, my sincere sympathy and condolences. So sad to hear about Maurice's passing. A gifted guitarist, and singer, a real character, and a down to earth friendly man. Farewell old pal, you'll be missed.
