Marie NICHOLSON Obituary
Marie Josephine:
After an amazing life our Mum left us for the arms of our Dad on Saturday evening, May 16, 2015. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Marie was the much loved wife of the late Peter and an inspirational mother of Brendan, Dermot, Barbara, Tara (previously Darienne) and John Herd, Diana and James Nicholson-Plank, and a loved grandma of Kieran, and Rory; Shannon, and Aiden; Anne; Toni and Shane; Richard; Reg and Emma; Charlotte; Steve and Nikki; Jacqui and Glen; Connor, and Ryan and a loved great-grandma of Benjamin; Bryce, Benjamin, Kieran, Nevarna, Liam and Kahlan. A funeral mass for Mum will be held at the Sacred Heart Basilica, Craigie Ave, on Wednesday May 20 at 1pm, followed by burial with Dad at the Timaru Cemetery. Donations to the Hospice Cottage would be gratefully received.

Auntie Marie your wonderful smile will always be my first memory of you, your help, advice and common sense approach to issues that we discussed and sorted. You always said the right thing and I feel so lucky to have been your nephew. John Paul was only a baby when you met him but he love his All Black teddy bear you gave him.

Am so sorry to hear of Marie's death - she was truly a great wee lady, and a much loved member of the Boy's High staff for so many years.

I worked with Marie for just on thirty years at Timaru Boys' High School. She was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Always willing to do what was asked. I wish I could attend the celebration of her life but it's not to be. She will be in my thoughts and remembered for the remainder of my life.
