On Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Central Coast, Australia. Loved husband of Barbara (dec). Son of late Doreen and Syd, brother and brother-in-law of Ray and Myrna. Father, father-in-law and stepfather of Jillian and Robert Henry, Reid and Helen, Deborah (dec), Matthew, Jason and Cory, Dean (dec) and Donna. Grandfather of Paul, Kaaja-Che, Sam, Jason, Michael, Stephen, Serena, Ami, Kimberly, Mersey, Lily, Jesse, Tamaryn and Kade, great-grandfather of Taylor, Isabelle, Ashton, Dylan, Mia, Phoenix, Stevie, Ayla and Violet. Messages to: 1 Orielton Place, Timaru 7910. A celebration of Lex's life will be held in Australia.

You were my boxing trainer, employer on the concrete mixer and a friend who I looked up to and admired. You nick-named me "Teasy Weasy the fighting Barber" and some ex boxers still refer to me as Teasy.
I was proud when the Australians took you as Trainer to the Olympics. And enjoyed our catch ups in Blacktown NSW and Timaru. You have had a good innings as folk say, wherever you are "Shake hands, and when the bell rings come out fighting" -- Teasy aka Peter Smith former light Middle and Middle weight TBC

Sad to hear the passing of Lex deepest sympathy to all the Ashton family Lex and Ray Olsen coached Star under 20 years ago he was a great mentor and friend Don´t know that we enjoyed the trainings at the boxing gym though they were tough! Fond memories sadly missed but not forgotten
