I was very sad to hear of Les's death - after being best mates through primary at Main School, we gradually lost contact when we went to different high schools. I have always remembered very fondly Les's great sense of humour and how he loved to make people laugh - while we only caught up infrequently over the last few years he was always a great guy to catch up and share yarns with. My sincere condolences to you Shirley and family in your very sad and unexpected loss of a great blokE.

I'm so sorry to hear of Les's passing. He was a best mate of my brother Roger in Primary school, and I had a lot to do with him on various civil construction projects around Timaru.
Les was always a pleasure to work with, had an awesome sense of humour, and always did have time for a yarn. He was a nice guy, and he will be sadly missed.

Dear Shirley and family. Have only seen this now and dumbfounded. Always enjoyed time with Les when treating him - a great man, genuinely interested in, and in touch with, the world around him. And loved a laugh! Thinking of you all and sorry to not see this before his funeral. Regards Brett.
