Mum was from Timaru and was a Skudder, growing up mostly in Gleniti. About 1957- 58 she ventured over to England for a Scout Endarba with her girlfriend, Margaret Fenton.
On the ship going over (the Rangitane) she met Colin Dainty, an Englishman returning to visit his parents in Kettering. They had a shipboard romance, got engaged in Manchester, returned to NZ, got married in St Marys in Timaru and settled in Invercargill.

Very Sad to hear of Juliennes passing, she was a very dear friend of our family, going all the way back to Monowai days. The residents were thrilled recently when I told them Julienne used to cut my hair when I was a little girl. It was lovely visiting her, bought back lovely memories for me. May her amazing life memories bring you all comfort as you face the days ahead without her.
