How sad I was to read of John's passing. My deepest sympathy go to all his family. I remember John very well in the years he was in Timaru, both while working at the Herald and on the " Dance Band music scene"

A brilliant musician and singing teacher who helped our daughter Sarah grow in confidence, a respected work colleague and later a gifted motoring writer John will leave an indelible mark in the lives of those who new him. Best wishes to John's family.
