McMILLAN, John Stuart:
On April 17, 2015, at Avonlea Rest Home, peacefully. Dearly loved
husband of Bobbie (Roberta),
and much loved father and father-in-law of Grant (Perth); Dawn and Simon; Erica and Greg (Wellington); loved Grandfather John of Rhiannon; and Emma. Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Duncan and Chris; and Bruce and Elizabeth (Dunedin); a loved Uncle and loved by all his extended family. Messages to the McMillan family, c/- PO Box 11101, Christchurch 8443. In lieu of flowers donations to the Dementia NZ or sent to PO Box 39100, Christchurch. A Time to Remember John's life will be held in the Academy Funeral Services Chapel, 65 Main South Road, Sockburn, Christchurch, on Wednesday, April 22, at 11.00am, and afterward private cremation.

How sad I was to read of John's passing. My deepest sympathy go to all his family. I remember John very well in the years he was in Timaru, both while working at the Herald and on the " Dance Band music scene"

A brilliant musician and singing teacher who helped our daughter Sarah grow in confidence, a respected work colleague and later a gifted motoring writer John will leave an indelible mark in the lives of those who new him. Best wishes to John's family.
