On December 4, 2024, at Timaru Hospital. Dearly loved husband of the late Dot. Cherished father and father-in-law of Jayne and Les Buckingham, Andrew and Jane, Hamish and Rachel. Adored and cherished grandfather of Emma Buckingham and Adam Joyce, Scott Buckingham and Shelley Wilson, Emily and Geoff Kidd, Kate and Adam Knight, Georgie and Matt Faddes, James McFarlane, Anna McFarlane and Dan Russell. Adored and cherished great-grandfather of Harry, Millie and Toby Joyce; Mila and Lola Kidd; Gigi Knight; Mack Buckingham, Ashton, Benjamin and Cooper; Olivia and Sophie Russell. At John's request a private farewell has been held.
