Sorry I missed your passing John. You were a genuine good bugger. Always enjoyed chatting about footy and shearing with you. Never forget the Sunday morning we had rep practice and Ray Vercoe got the Zingari seniors to give us live scrum practice and you in gym shoes pushed Walshy all over the park.
RIP

Growing up in the same farming community and sharing a common love of rugby meant that John and I played years of rugby together firstly for the small Cust club. We were then part of an outstanding Oxford U16 team which we both fond memories of and finally we played together for Rangiora High 1st XV. John was an uncompromising front rower who gave of his best and yielded to no-one. He was a very genuine guy who never let you down. I was able to spend some special time with John near the end and for that I am most thankful. He was a person I always respected.

John (JK) was a well respect man who was generous with his time and knowledge. JK will always be remembered by me as great role model for young blade shearers, myself included and a no nonsense up front rugby player. Rest in peace JK.

My father Sam, always spoke of the considerable time and respect he had for JK.

They shared countless laughs, stories, blade shearing sheds and adventures and Dad would have been especially saddened to hear of JK´s passing.

My respect and condolences to Johns family and friends.

Thanks for all the awesome memories from the bach at Moeraki Blue. A real genuine kiwi bloke, gone too soon. I´m sure you have been greeted at the gate by dad (Noel) and he would have given you the royal tour, followed by plenty of yarns over a couple of flagons. Rest easy Blue.
