Jock BRIEN Obituary

At home unexpectedly on March 29, 2026, aged 63. Dearly loved younger son of the late Margaret and Des Brien. Loved brother of Speed (Michael), and much loved by his Siegert and Brien cousins. A service for Jock will be held in the Fairlie Community Centre on Wednesday, April 8 at 11.00am, thereafter interment at the Burkes Pass Cemetery, where Jock can watch over the road which he looked after for over two decades. No more snow ploughing in the winter or fixing pot holes in the summer. Messages c/- 9 Regent Street, Fairlie 7025.

Oh this is such a shock. I always loved a good old chat with Jock. Jock and Speed rented me their old cottage at Allandale and they were so kind to me.
Ill be forever greatful.
Rest easy Jock. Im sad I wont be able to chat with you again. Sending heartfelt thoughts to you Speed and all Jocks friends and family.

So sad to see the passing of jock, on Saturday's when he came shopping he would find me to have a good old catch up, and tell me everything that happened in fairlie, will miss seeing him on the downer truck,, Fairlie won't be the same without you,,

Very sorry to hear of Jocks passing. We always had a saying when we would see each other , I would say " hello brother Jock" and he would say " hello brother Wayne " always good for a bit of banter.

I remember Jock enthralling people with his humor and his magical story telling abilities.

I recall being in a group of eager listeners one day, when Jock told a lengthy, but bloody funny joke, so amazingly well, that he was instantly asked to repeat the same joke..... and we all laughed just as hard as the first time.

He was such a good communicator and even better human. Rest well
