My deepest sympathy to Jan, Tim, Carmel, Adam and Ben. Some of the happiest memories of my childhood involved the various visits to and outings with the O'Loughlin family. Ian had the rare capacity to talk to young people without ever taking down' to us. His warmth and concern for others was admirable. He will be much missed.

I would like to express our deepest sympathy to Jan and the family at the passing of Ian. I knew Ian as a patient from early childhood and through my schooling with Tim, Carmel and the boys while at Waimataitai School.My mother Susan was a dental nurse who often worked with Ian in child oral healthcare to make the world a better place for many people. My friends Dr Poplawski ans Dr Wilton amongst others have lost a great friend and collegue, a golfer, skier and a compasionate person in many fields. Thanks Ian for making my life better and I will long remember you driving in your Rover car to work. Rest in Peace.
