Dear Jeremy, Sara, Nick & families
This is a very long overdue message to express my deepest sympathy at the loss of your father & grandfather, one of life's true gentleman. Morley was very well respected and held in high regard in the valuation profession. When I first became a valuer Morley was the South Island Regional Manager for the Valuation Department, which later became Valuation NZ. I have very distinct memories of Morley visiting the various offices of Valuation NZ with his "thousand acre" / checked jacket and hat! After working as a Registered Valuer in Invercargill and Christchurch, I returned to South Canterbury. I then worked with Donn Armstrong & Associates. Morley and I were the Associates. Donn, Morley and I had a wonderful working relationship. We were involved in corporate and local, rural and some urban, valuation work. There are a few stories which I would love to share with you at some stage about your father and grandfather. Morley is missed by many of us in the valuation profession for his experience, knowledge and wit. I remember him fondly as a gentleman who always had time for a chat.
Can you please let me know when you plan to hold the memorial service. There will be others in the valuation profession who I am sure would love to be in attendance as well.

Timaru is more because of Morley..

What wonderful neighbours both Morley ( or Mr Morley ) and Lynley were. My children always remember the welcoming container of cookies on the day we moved in and the cabbages and cauliflowers that would be passed over the fence.
