Gordon Bryant: ONZM
Well known and much loved Christchurch historian, biographer and teacher. On October 23, 2017, at Nazareth House, Christchurch, aged 83 years. Peacefully after a long illness with devoted daughters by his side. Dear husband and best friend of the late Elisabeth "Libby" (nee Hanna). Inspiring and greatly loved father and father-in-law of Anne Ogilvie and Fatih Güngör, Margaret Ogilvie and G´ábor T´óth, Susan Ogilvie and Brendan Comas. Special grandad and a lovely role model to Melike, Dilara, Aim´ée, Liam and Kl´ára. Dearly loved brother of Helen Dayal, and the late Ruth White and Janet Wilson; loved brother-in-law of Neville Wilson, Jane Taylor, David Hanna, and the late Ram Dayal and Tony White. Fondly "Uncle Gordon" to his many nieces and nephews. Special friend to Celia in his last years. Loved by many dear friends. Warmest thanks to the wonderful staff at Nazareth House, Nurse Maude, and to the Revered Kevin Tapper.

Messages to the Ogilvie Family, C/- 19 London Street, Christchurch 8013. In lieu of flowers donations to either Nurse Maude or the Summit Road Society would be appreciated and may be made at the service. A service to celebrate Gordon's life will be held at St Andrew's College Chapel, 347 Papanui Road, Christchurch, on Saturday, October 28, at 1.30pm.

The world has lost a true character. So many fantastic childhood memories with 'Uncle Gordon' and the rest of the Ogilvie clan, especially school holidays at Castle Hill.
