Geoffrey COULING Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Hospice South Canterbury, Timaru, on Sunday, December 17, 2023; aged 80. Beloved husband of Biljana Couling. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Anna and Jonathan Winn, Stephen (Jimmy) Couling and Katie Milton, Amber and Teo Karabeg, and stepfather and father-in-Iaw of Vladimir and Katarina MiladinoviÄ?. Precious Grandad of Harrison, Austin, and Mihajlo. Much loved twin of the late Jennifer Bertie and husband Derek, brother and brother-in-law of the late David Couling and wife Lula, Elizabeth and the late Lindsay Wards, William (Billy) Couling, the late Margaret Catherall and husband Bruce, and brother-in-law of Mirjana StevanoviÄ?. Loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. A service celebrating Geoffrey's life will be held at Aoraki Funeral services on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 10.00am, followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice South Canterbury would be gratefully accepted and may be left at the service. I was saddened to learn of Geoffrey's passing and was grateful to observe the funeral service through livestreaming. The family tributes and photos brought back many memories I shared with Geoffrey and his family during our boyhood days in Mataura during the 1950's. My sister Marion also worked with Biljana in the ESOL Home Tutor's Scheme in Invercargill in 2001.
Our condolences go to Biljana and her extended family in their time of loss but also remembering the happy times of a life well lived.

Geoff's art work showed his outstanding ability and it has been great seeing his wonderful smile once again in the slide show. I was in Geoff's Mataura School class and also in the Boys Brigade and on those Ardmore Camp trips and tramping in the Routeburn, of which I hold fond memories.

We are saddened by Geoff's passing. He and all of you put up a valiant battle. He was such a gracious and gentle friend when we were fortunate to spend time with him in NZ and Texas. We'll miss him and will always have these fond memories of him. Love, hugs, and care to all of his wonderful family.
