Gay and I worked in the Strawberry patches of Alan and Rose-Angela Warrens for many years. She was meticulous in the way she picked, graded and packed each punnet. Sooo many times Claire and I would try and get her out of the searing sun, but no Gay had a quota she wanted to achieve and that she did!. Golf was the one thing that got her out of the patch. Such a lovely warm soul was Gay. Now dancing with the angels.

Gaye was my Tennis coach for many years. And I loved going into her little shop full of goodies. A true PlPt icon.

So many great memories of Gay from Opihi and Pleasant Point days. I loved going into her shop, choosing a comic while Mum and Gay caught up. She was always interested in what you were up to. Gay wrote a reference for me for my first job. My condolences to all the Henderson family on the loss of an amazing lady.

Our heartfelt condolences to the family of Gay. I played tennis against Gay many years ago and she was such a trooper. Wings like an albatross and fearless. Years later, she played golf with my boys. As a family we have so many special memories of lovely Gay. Rest in peace lovely lady. xxxx

We will miss our Sunday dinner dates at Highfield with Kaye and Tom. As we all were at Pleasant point primary school together, loved and worked in the same area, played sport and knew a lot of people, our conversations were always lively. Gay always knew what sports were on TV and what the nations score was. She was one of the first people John met when he became a resident of Highfield and gay soon grabbed him to make up a four for Euchre!
Sincere condolences to her family. We will miss her.
