Sending love to Noeline and to all of Gary's family - he was so proud of you all! I knew Gary through our work on the Yellow Brick Road board. He was a wonderful person and really lived a life of service. He was a friend and a mentor over many years and I will miss him.

To Noeline,
My apologies that I cannot be at the service, but I will view it on live stream. My deepest sympathy to you in the short time I have known both of you via St John's Health Shuttle here in Timaru. From Laurence

My sincere condolences to all of Garys family.
I met Gary years ago through my colleague and Gary's daughter Tania and renewed contact with him when I joined the board of Yellow Brick Road. Gary was a wise counsel, the elder statesman. He knew a lot about lots of things and was generous in sharing his knowledge and experience with those of us with less experience. I admired the way he continued to contribute in his community, his cheeky sense of humour and the way he called a spade a spade. he hated zoom, much preferring face to face meetings and he made sure we all knew it. He was also strongly collegial and extremely supportive of others.
Gary was very proud of his family and often talked of them. While we really missed him when he retired from YBR a year ago I know he will be a much bigger loss to his family. Thanks for sharing him with us.
A privilege to have worked alongside Gary.

I am shocked and hugely saddened to hear of Gary's passing. I knew Gary through our work at Yellow Brick Road - he as the Board's principal finance advisor and me as an employee.
He was hugely supportive of me in my role as Finance Manager and I was immensely sad to say goodbye last year at the AGM. We hugged and shed a few tears.
I can only imagine that he would have had the same effect on many throughout his life and his passing will conjure many such tributes. But he will leave the biggest hole in the lives of his nearest and dearest. My heartfelt condolences to you all.

To Noeline and Family Members, my deepest sympathies are with you at this sad time.
I knew Garry through the Yellow Brick Road organisation which he had a great influence in saving. Gary was a strong advocate and board member who played a key part in a successful merger of separate branches to form a single nationwide organisation, "walking along side whanua who experience a mental illness".
He was a great help to me in the role of chair steering the new entity through it's growing pains. His wise council and sense of mischief was enjoyed by all.
Thank you family for your support of Gary to enable him to play this valued role.
Love and sympathies from Dick Brown and (wife) Alison
