Eric YATES Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eric Yates, who died peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Arvida St Albans Rest Home, Christchurch with his grandchildren by his side; aged 97 years. Beloved husband of the late Jean. Cherished father and father-in-law of Gillian (dec), Ian (dec), and Sally (UK). Loved brother of Alan, and the late Brian, Arthur, and Gordon. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Christopher, and Rachel, and their partners, Stephanie, and Adam, Benjamin, Daniel, and Sophie. Adored great-grandfather of Maddison, and Bailey; Kai, and Kit; and Holly, and Evelyn. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Arvida St Albans Rest Home for their care and kindness. A service to celebrate Eric's life will be held at Aoraki Funeral Services Chapel, 160 Mountain View Road, Timaru, on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 2.00pm.
