Duncan HALL Obituary

1939 – 2026
On January 25, 2026, Duncan left the building - going as he lived, entirely on his own terms. Born in Manchester, a wartime evacuee who grew up in the countryside, Duncan will be remembered for his incredible brain, as king of the trivia quiz, lover of Shakespeare, and devoted football fan - go Manchester City! A talented sportsman in his younger years, he excelled at cricket and football, later discovering a passion for lawn bowls and golf, and proudly captained the Temuka Golf Club. A devoted cat lover - especially of his beloved Shadow, who stayed by his side to the very end. Dearly loved by Pauline, his wife of 66 years. Much loved Dad and Dad-in-law of Stephen and Penny, and Melanie. Loved Grandad of Benjamin, Gabrielle and Seth, Tim and Esther, and thrilled to recently become a great-grandfather to Mason. No funeral by request. Messages for the family may be sent to [email protected]
