Very sad to hear yesterday that Dorothy passed away last year. I regret that life events have meant it is this late that I can pay tribute to her. My memories of Dorothy are from 17 years ago and earlier when we visited her and John annually on return trips from London. We owe her a huge debt for her love and care of John - he had the opportunity to meet Finlay (2nd oldest grandson) and knew of Xanthes pending arrival (5th oldest grand-daughter). Dorothy was patient and caring. I remember a lost kitten followed me home from a walk one day - she was beside herself over the "dear wee thing" and after we left she cared for it until she found it´s home. There was so much energy and love packed into that little frame! Thanks for everything Dorothy. Love Tracy, Finlay and Xanthe.

We were very sorry to read that Dorothy has died. She was a friend to us from when we first met her and John in the late 90's and started Aurora Paint in Washdyke. I always called in to see her when passing through Waimate but hadn't done so since Covid. It is sad that they both died in hospice but think that they would of had a laugh about it.
