On behalf of my wife Jean nee Forbes and myself we would like to pass on our sympathy to the McCully family. I only got to know the McCullys in the 60s after buying 'Rusper' the farm next door, but Jean had lived next door on the 'Pines' all her life.Regards to all Geoff & Jean Inder Queensland.

Don directed a couple of my plays for the South Canterbury Drama League. He was a wonderful director and just the nicest man. What a huge loss he is to amateur dramatics in SC. My sincere condolences to his friends and family. There will always be people in your life you are particularly glad you met - for me Don was one of them.

Don had a zest for life and loved whatever he set himself to do. I will miss our little catch ups. A purely inspirational man.

Don's positive and engaging personality will be much missed. His dedication to theatre and his old school was impressive. Fondly remembered.

A truly charming gentleman. So many wonderful memories of Don from the SC drama league and as our marriage celebrant. An absolutely decent human being. Deepest sympathies to Don's family at this terribly sad time.

A bloody great man. Don was hilarious, clever and just a fabulous fella. A true gentleman who was able to guide many of us on stage with his encouraging and unique style. A sad time for our theatre community - he´ll leave a huge gap.

Don we only met you once or twice at The Farm but you made an impression on both Ayron and myself. A great sense of humour,a loving Dad and Grandad and an all round great guy who we were looking fwd to getting to know more over the years with Charlotte Daniel and Penelope.Sadly now for all of us that wont happen but we will cherish having Charlotte and Penelope in our family . Thankyou for sharing last Xmas with us Don.

Dear Don Thank you for your gentle kindness your whole life. You were a gentleman to the end, struggling to stand up from the hospice chair and put your now boney arms around me. I'll never forget adventures and good times, sparse as they were over the years. We'll have to stop arguing about God now. And you have left such a proud legacy and wonderful daughter and son. Vale, Don
