In lieu of flowers please spend the money having a beer or two in Don's memory, say a prayer for him and just dance!

The happiest man we know! Forever the pilgrim.
Now walking the streets in Heaven with Jesus and Jimmy. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away.

I bumped into Don in Launceston a few years back, when he was coaching a junior rugby side...we both recognised each other although we hadn't seen each other since school. Top bloke and always good for a beer after the game. Sympathies to all the family. Dave Garden - Launceston

To all the Mconnochie family, and extended family, please accept our deepest sympathy in your sad loss of Don. I played rugby with Don at Old Boys and he was a fine captain and I´ll never forget how we looked after him on our end of season trip to the West Coast whilst he had a broken leg.RIP Don. I've known Don through primary school and the Old Boys Rugby Club in Timaru. I am saddened to read that he has left you all. I send my sympathy to Karen and the family.

We played rugby together at Old Boys in Timaru. He was a good player but more importantly one of the team's characters - we had a few at the time.
The great Tom Lister was our coach and it´s fair to say that whatever little bit of hair he had was well gone by the team we moved on. Great guy and we´ll all enjoy the memories.
