Donald Colin "Don" GRAY

Donald GRAY Obituary

Sadly, broke our hearts on October 27, 2024, Browns Bay, Auckland, after a courageous battle. Loved and forever in our memories. Much loved partner of Karen Cuneen. Loved son of the late Colin and Ngaire; loved brother and brother-in-law of Peter and Heather, and very proud uncle to Lisamarie and Lance Florance. Treasured friend of many. A private cremation has been held. Messages to the Gray family, 24 Acacia Avenue, Rangiora 7400.

I was very fortunate to meet up with Don and Karen, by owning his 1970 911E Porsche. Our coffee catch ups were always most enjoyable. My car (which was originally Don´s car) will always be part of my 911 journey. Don will be greatly missed- my sincere condolences to Karen.

Don, we feel so privileged to become friends with you. Meeting you set our business venture off on such a steady path, you were, and will always, remain our lucky charm. I'm so glad I got to see you working that one last time in your happy place. I've just returned from watering your plants, they are looking vibrant and healthy, just as you liked them. Thank you for the lessons. Scotty, Nic and Karlo.

So sorry to hear of Dons passing. I worked with Don at the IRD in Nelson many years ago. `And caught up with him a few years ago after he wrote an amazing tribute to our late IRD collegue Jim MacKie. I was hoping to get up to Auckland to see him and he had very kindly offered to "put us up" But unfortunately we did not get there.
