On October 21, 2024, peacefully at Malvina Major Hospital, Wellington, aged 76. Dearly loved husband of Noeline (nee Butterfield) for 53 years. Much loved father and father-in-law of Gabrielle and Hamish Nicholson (Wellington), and Jonnie and Jacque Halstead (Seattle USA). Proud and adored Grandad of Rocco, Chevy and Anise Halstead, and Jimmy and Alice Nicholson. Dearly loved by the Butterfield family, Shona, Shirley and the late Joe and Barbara Butterfield. David is the son of the late Dr Charles and Paddy Halstead of Timaru, brother to the late Richard Halstead and Wendy Low. Loved brother-in-law of Graeme Low. A dearly loved uncle to his nieces and nephews. A private cremation has been held. A Memorial Service for David will be held at Lamb and Hayward, 467 Wairakei Road, Christchurch, on Thursday, November 14 at 2.00pm. Deeply mourned, a good friend and family man.
