Barbara was a very dear friend, and the best pen pal anyone could ask for. We started trading old-fashioned pen-pal letters in 2017 and she delighted me with her elegant taste in fountain pens, fine inks, and stationery which was a shared interest of ours. To my surprise, she had family roots not far from me here in the American mid-west, including an ancestor who was a U.S. Congressman 100 years ago. I am very glad I had the opportunity to travel to her grandfather's old hometown and send her photos of it that she'd never seen. I'm so very grateful that I was able to do that for her. Barbara was kind, gracious, and supportive, and I have many fond memories of our friendship. I regret that I never got the chance to meet her in person. May she rest in peace. I'll see you again sometime, Barbara. --John E. Dunn, Ozark, Missouri, USA
