Love and prayers to you all at this sad time for you <3
I remember well the New Year celebrations at the Gorge camp, McKeowns and Taeris, with Arthur joining in when he finished his work shift. The Bonfire and times shared with the families.
Rosary Sunday processions, wonderful baking with afternoon teas at your place. In later years visiting you at the village and sharing faith, especially about Medjugorje.
When I think of Arthur, I think of his laugh, his twinkling eyes and his big smile, that spread right across his face to suddenly appear in lighting up his whole countenance, after often looking so very serious. As kids we were never sure if he was being serious or just having us on.
I vaguely recall giving the horse shoe at your wedding. I remember a very pretty lady looking down at me from masses of white chiffon type material that was your dress, Margaret. I couldn't understand why Mum gave me a pretty lacy thing that I then had to give away. Then you and Arthur suddenly being at Mass here in Oamaru in celebrating your anniversary.
Sorry I was unable to be there today.
I will call in when I am in Timaru next. Take care of yourselves.
May God be your strength.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of Arthur.
He & my late husband David Hore were great mates & work colleagues in Timaru. They had very similar senses of humour I recal. Arthur will be sorely missed I know. A lovely caring man
God bless
